Edith G. Koleno, 80, of Mars, Adams Township, passed away Monday evening, Oct. 19, 2026, in the comfort of her home with her husband at her side.

Born in Latrobe on Aug. 29, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Viola Cantola Sciotti.

Edith had been a high school health and physical education teacher and a volleyball coach at Springdale High School in the Allegheny Valley School District.

An avid golfer, she was in a couples golf league and had scored a hole-in-one.

She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish at St. Kilian Church.

Surviving are her husband, Robert A. Koleno, whom she married Aug. 8, 1970; two sisters, Arlene Gordish (the late John), of Avonmore, and Sandy Policicchio, of Woodlands, Texas; and nieces and nephews.

KOLENO — Friends of Edith G. Koleno, who died Monday, Oct. 19, 2026, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A blessing service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
