Marie Stevens, 89, of Campbell, Calif., went home to the Lord on Sept. 14, 2006.

Born Sept. 7, 1917, in Hilliards, she was the daughter of William H. and Margaret Peoples Waite.

She was a Roman Catholic and belonged to St. Lucy Roman Catholic Church in San Jose, Calif.

She is survived by three sons, Donald, of Campbell, Richard (Noreen) of Boulder Creek, Calif., and Mark, of Martinez Calif.; two daughters, Virginia (Andrew) Erie of Butler and Rebecca Desmond, of Hercules, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by a brother, B. Eugene (Dolly) Waite of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Stevens, who died in 1958; two sisters; and two brothers.
