Former state senator Orie disbarred from law practice
HARRISBURG — Former state senator Jane Orie has been disbarred from the practice of law two years after being temporarily suspended.
The latest action stems from her conviction for violating campaign laws by ordering her staff to help with her re-election campaign, and for forging exhibits used at her trial.
The disbarment by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court is retroactive to May 7, 2012, when she was suspended.
Orie, who lives in Allison Park, Allegheny County, had represented parts of Butler County. She served 17 months of a 2½-to-10-year prison sentence.
