Moniteau vs KC game
I am concerned that of all the people at the Moniteau vs KC Basketball game there was no concern for the racial slurs and attempts to "heckle" and "call-out" a child on the KC team from an adult in the Moniteau stands. Regardless to the retaliation that was mishandled by a child, the law was broke in your gym. It is unlawful to use racial slurs. It is unlawful for an adult to threaten bodily harm to a child. My biggest concern is that so many people from the game have chose to simply be deaf to the issue, but claim that the KC player used poor sportmanship? It is a fact that most "children" are incapable of properly expressing themselves. I surely do not know how my "white" son would have handled himself had he been in a gym full of "black" people and had someone commenting to him with racial terms and telling him to come on up in the stands so he could knock him down. Being a reasonable adult I can not see past the irresponsibility on the part of the security guards and fans that did not see it proper to remove the man that was responsible for this injustice. I have only been living in KC for the last few years, and attend most sporting events. The rivalry seems to have always exsisted, but the outright disconcern for the children, I hadn't seen that until now. The KC player was not upset with any of the team players, but rightfully upset with the ridiculous display of adulthood that stood at the top of the bleachers. It appeared to me that some of you may have thought that the KC player was the one who started it, and shamefully, you are wrong. If your concern is sportmanship that maybe you should consider that it goes both ways and that good values start in your homes. Not when you find an issue in a haystack of others and decide to publicly display them for attention. The KC player was disciplined for retaliating (how sad). Now let's see if Moniteau can find the one at fault in their stands and discipline him? Any takers...Just as I thought, had their been then the man would have been removed permanantly from ALL sport functions.
