Thank you for the insight, but the problem seems to be a misdiagnosis of the scabies. True, schools do have policies, however, who can prove that hives are scabies and the doc says it is an allergic reaction? The beat goes on. This could bring an epidemic for children and us too. Mis diagnosing a contageous skin disease isn't good. It just worries me, because it is corcerning our kids. You also mentioned look between fingers etc., well when my kids contacted it, it was on wrists and ankles and they looked just like hives. I was totally ignorant to scabies, we are clean. I accepted the docs diagnosis, the hives came and went and came and went. Until one day it got real bad and I went to pittsburgh to an allery specialis, he nailed it right away. I think it would be worth a second opinion, if a child cannot get rid of this. Other children will be contacting this, it is highly contageous and the bad part is, how many people does it affect before you know that the family even has it. The first time you get it, it takes 4-6 weeks for signs, the signs are different in everyone, after the first infection it takes 1-5 days for signs to appear and children are affected the worst. My kids fingers were never affected, and looked like hives. But the hives wouldn't go away and stay away. I think it is best to go to a specialist in dermatology when it comes to kids and skin issues. I went to an allegy specialist to treat hives and like I said He nailed it. And the hives went away. But I thank you for the advise.
