The four Butler County detectives have a new three-year contract.

The county commissioners last week accepted the contract, which runs until Dec. 31, 2017.

The detectives, represented by Butler County FOP Lodge 107, will receive a 3.25 percent pay raise for the first and second year of the contract, and a 3.5 percent pay raise in the third year.

Detectives also will be able to choose one of two health care plans, paying either 5 percent or 7.5 percent of their health care costs.

All county union contracts expired Dec. 31, 2014.

With only four employees, the detective's union is the smallest union of county employees.
