Avanell J. Stahlman, 89, of 719 Collingwood Lane, Emlenton, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at her home.

Born in New Bethlehem, March 12, 1917, she was the daughter of Adam and Sarah Kelly Schafer.

She had been a practical nurse at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Oakland.

She was a member of Whitehall Church of God, Emlenton.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lennis (Sueann) Babcock of Orange Park, Fla.; and three granddaughters, a grandson and six great-grandsons, all in Florida. She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Donna Smith of Butler, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and eight sisters.
