Gardasil & natural law

ameshaa@aol.com

Tanya from Pittsburgh appropriately draws attention to the sheer inanity of Matthew Dec's recent comments. In his post he characterizes those that may benefit from the HPV vaccine as practicing "unnatural perversions." His view is consistent with a religious outlook that characterizes sex as only a means to create more subjects for a supernatural deity. Accordingly, sexual activity without the goal of procreation is viewed as a base animalistic drive which must be deterred against with the threats of sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies. To religionists these consequences are viewed as part of a "natural" law that flows from God and any intervention by man that attenuates these effects is damned as interfering with the "natural" course of events. A more wicked code antithetical to living life on Earth would be hard to devise.
