Baptism should only be done after a person has accepted Christ as his personal savior. A child has no Biblical responsibility to do this. For there is only one spiritual birth, and only one baptism. A child may be dedicated- to the church that he attends wherein the members of the church agree on that special day to raise up this child in the ways of the Lord. Honestly, the lord does not care what the child is wearing, and I love the fact that you have the courage to seek help. Remember, Baptism does not get you into Heaven. it is by God's Grace through Faith, Not of Works lest any man should boast. Baptism is something you do immediately after you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior, it is only a symbol of your faith made public to everyone in attendance. In fact, until I recently read through the Bible my self and found this out, I was fooled by the church for years. Don't seek man's rituals- seek God's plan for your life.
