BUTLER TWP — Police charged a 28-year-old woman with drugged driving stemming from a one-vehicle wreck last month on the 200 block of Evans City Road.

Neither Keri Dewitt of Ellwood City nor her 2-year-old son, a passenger in the vehicle, was hurt in the crash about 9:45 a.m. Nov. 4.

Butler Township police said Dewitt lost consciousness while westbound and struck a mailbox. Officers later found suspected heroin and marijuana in the vehicle, according to a police report.

Dewitt is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, child endangerment, reckless endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana and several traffic violations.

Police said the Butler County Children and Youth Services agency was contacted after the crash. It was not immediately known who has custody of the suspect’s son.
