Bowers

Mary Ruth "Mamie" Bowers, 67, of Cranberry Township died Tuesday at UPMC Passavant Cranberry Place.

Born June 29, 1939, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Grace Pryor Houk.

She was a beautician and enjoyed her work with the residents at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

Mrs. Bowers enjoyed gardening and was an avid stock car fan.

She attended Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Laura A. Dufford and her husband, Duff, of Gray, Ga., and Brenda L. Martin and her husband, Allen, of Evans City; her companion, Dick Neal of Zelienople; a brother, Russell C. Houk of New Castle; and a sister, Beverly J. Harlan of New Castle.

She also is survived by five grandchildren, Casey, Dustin, Erik, Troy and Misty.
