Tribute dinner for Purvis scheduled
PENN TWP — The Community Health Clinic of Butler County will host a tribute dinner May 20 in honor of Jean Purvis.
It will be at Butler Country Club at 5:30 p.m.
Purvis has made invaluable contributions to the Butler community throughout her life. She co-chaired the capital campaign that generated the funding to begin the health clinic in 2007.
Purvis also has been active with many other organizations including the Butler Health System Foundation, the Butler County Historical Society, the Butler County Community College Education Foundation, the Butler School Board, the Butler Area League of Women Voters and the Butler County Symphony Association.
She also was instrumental in establishing the Visiting Nurses Association of Butler County.
Purvis is a co-author of “A Pictorial History of Butler County,” and she wrote “A Medical History of Butler County.”
The cost of the dinner is $50 per person.
