BUTLER TWP — A Sarver man and gymnastics coach has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly having improper sexual contact with a pupil between 2013 and 2015.

Keith R. Callen, 45, has been charged with sexual assault by a sports official, volunteer or employee of non-or-for-profit organization, aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and indecent assault. The charges were filed on April 26 in an Allegheny County district court by state police in Butler.

Police said Callen began instructing the victim in 2010, at a gym in Hampton Township and also coached the victim at gyms in West Deer Township, Allegheny County, and Butler Township. Police said the alleged improper conduct occurred at gyms in both counties.
