Carol J. Gilbert, 66, of Cranberry Township died Saturday at her home.

Born Aug. 15, 1940, in Charlotte, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Clarissa Spencer Cornwell.

Mrs. Gilbert was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church, Cranberry Township.

She loved gardening, beautiful flowers and decorating her home.

She is survived by her husband, Lary Gilbert, whom she married, March 22, 1959; three daughters, Lauri Gilbert-Osburn and her husband, Daniel, of Walled Lake, Mich., Lisa Gilbert of Clio, Mich., and Linda Kula and her husband, Paul, of Farmington Hills, Mich.; a son, Michael Gilbert of Cranberry Township; a brother, Sylvester Cornwell and his wife, Bernita of Battle Creek, Mich.; two sisters, Gertrude Beard of Bellevue, Mich., and Muriel Stevenson and her husband, Charles, of Battle Creek.

Five grandchildren, Justin Comer and his wife, Robin, Dominick and Chase Comer and Trevor and Sarah Kula; and three great-grandchildren, Spencer, Sylvia and Weston Comer also survive.

She was preceded in death by a son, Craig Gilbert; three sisters, and two brothers.

<B>GILBERT </B>— A memorial service for Carol J. Gilbert, who died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Hope Lutheran Church, 8070 Rowan Road, Cranberry Township, with the Rev. Ronald Brown, officiating.
