Dorothy J. Moon Beach, 88, of Grove City died at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday at Orchard Manor, Grove City, after a long illness.

Born in Grove City, Jan. 31, 1919, she was the daughter of George Earl and Grace Bell Moon.

She retired from Slippery Rock University as a secretary after 11 years. She previously worked for the Grove City School District.

Mrs. Beach was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 86, was a charter member of the White Shrine Chapter 53 and belonged to the United Community Hospital Volunteers.

Surviving are two daughters, Kay Huemme and Jane Parr, both of Butler; four grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters.

Her husband, Thurlow M. Beach, whom she married Oct. 4, 1941, died Oct. 6, 1985. She also was preceded in death by a brother and a stepsister.

Moon Beach, who died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev.
