Bridge collapse
The recent bridge collapse in Minnesota really makes you think doesn't it? We are living in a State that probably has more bridges than anywhere else in the world. The ones I have seen; in particular the one in Freeport (scheduled for rebuild)really makes you wonder. I think the bridge collapse in Minnesota is a reflection on our entire nation. We fiddle while Rome burns. We are so caught up in helping the rest of the world that we have forgotten about our own people. We are so caught up with helping foreign countries and giving them financial assistance that we have forgotten about our native residence and our children’s education. We (Our Government) spends billions bombing then rebuilding the infrastructures of Iraq, while our own is falling apart. Is this human nature or stupidity. I am not sure.(probably both)I know people that belong to clubs and such and they do everything in their power to make the club nice. They donate supplies and labor etc. and then you see where they live and there home are falling apart. It just makes you shake your head and wonder. I am all for helping others; but I also feel we have an obligation to help ourselves first and foremost, then if there is anything left give the others a hand. I think if we worry about helping ourselves we will ultimately have more than we can handle. Regards, John
