Teacher pay

Teachers are nine month employees who have the OPTION to have thier salaries stretched for twelve months. Until recently, teachers in Butler were required to report to work at regular time on snow delays. This was changed after a beloved young music teacher was killed in an accident on 422 reporting to work even though students weren't there yet. When school is cancelled, yes, teachers get the day off, but that day is made up another time, it's called a SNOW MAKE UP DAY. Teachers are paying a percentage of thier benefits, go to college for at least four years, many for 6 or 8 or more, and care and teach our children for 7 full hours and spend countless hours at home doing paper work and class planning, phone calls and such. If you are jealous of thier salaries and benefits, why not try to walk in thier shoes after spending thousands of dollars on your education before being so negatively judgemental. I'm not saying they should be paid outrageously high salaries, but they do deserve make competative wages (not walmart or mcdonald wages, but white collar wages.)
