Fight leads to charges

Woman accused of beating mom

CENTER TWP — A 24-year-old woman is accused of badly beating her mother during a weekend domestic dispute at their home on Miles Lane.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton on Monday issued an arrest warrant for Chelsey Ann Rock on felony assault and other charges.

Rock’s mother, Amy Sheptak, suffered a black eye and possible broken facial bones in the altercation about 11 p.m. Saturday, state police said.

Sheptak told police that after she and her daughter got into an argument, the defendant grabbed her from behind and put her in a choke hold, according to court documents.

Rock allegedly dragged Sheptak down the stairs and punched her in the face three or four times. The victim eventually managed to break free, and her daughter fled the house.

Troopers later searched for but did not find Rock.

Sheptak went to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment. A police affidavit described Sheptak’s injuries as a bruised and swollen face.

A physician also said that she may have suffered facial fractures.

Rock is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
