I can definitely understand why parents and tax payers in the Seneca Valley school district are upset, however, I don't feel that everyone who lists their job occupation as an educator, deserves an equal bashing. Teachers this, and teachers that! Does anyone have a rough estimate of how many people in America are actually teachers? If someone thinks that it isn't fair that teachers only work "part-time" (which is not true) and they get paid summers off to sit around and get a tan (also not true), then go back to college and get a degree in education. Yes, there are some teachers out there who only care about their paychecks, but I'm pretty sure there are many more, who do care about your children. Just because my doctor charges me a hundred and some dollars a visit,for something that takes fifteen minutes to complete, doesn't mean I have to throw a tantrum and start a doctor bashing discussion board. It is what it is, if I wanted the life of a doctor, then I would have went to school to become a doctor. Just because my doctor may only care about his salary, doesn't mean that all doctors don't care about their patients (this is hypothetical...I love my doctor)! Either way, some people in general, look at their jobs only as a paycheck and do the bare minimum, unfortunately our society just has some flat out lazy people in general. It just sounds silly when members of a community bash All teachers. There are a lot of wonderful educators out there who don't deserve it, and I bet if we all think about it, we could ramble off quite a few names of teachers who helped mold us into the successful people we are today.
