Drug tests and Welfare
A friend of mine sent me an email today. It was about how we have to take a drug test to get a job, but not one to be on welfare.
Most of (no not all) people that collect welfare don't work. Some are drug users, and need the cash assistance and anything else to help support their problem.
Well what if the state started giving drug tests to people that need the assistance? It might just make those people get off their butts, and get a job. Even if it is only fast food, or bagging groceries. Anything for them to contribute into what us taxpayers are paying. So that way we don't have to "help" the drug addicts.
It might also help to where people that need the help, and actually work for a living can get assistance when times get tough.
Now I have also thought of the bad things that could be wrong with this idea. For instance like crime rate going up. Only if you think about how many people are turned down monthly, because they make to much money? Our crime rate isn't going up because of that.
I know personally that it sucks to be turned down when they think you make to much. Only they don't include a lot of normal everyday things you need to buy with your money. Or how much your propane really costs, compared to what you are actually bringing home...not grossing.
Maybe though if the state takes the time to drug tests, people that really need the help, that works, and still can't make ends meet will have more of a chance to get help, then the ones that sit at home all day.
P.S. Just so you know I do know that some people sit at home all day, and collect welfare and social security for medical reasons. I am not saying all people on welfare are drug addicts. Only this idea will help the state STOP supporting the druggies in this town, and all around the U.S.A
