Personaly , I think the $80,000 to $200,000 estimated cost of erecting a statue to an Indian murderer could go a long way to fixing potholes and also towards painting the disgraceful looking Wayne Street Viaduct.Why is it that people in charge always find the most ridiculous ways to spend money other than on the obvious things that need to be, and should be done? City council members liked the idea? Well let them pay for it with their money then if they like it so much. I suggest they get out of their offices and take a look around Butler!!I would rather see the streets fixed and the bridge painted.What they are doing is the equivalent of adding a jacuzzi room to a home thats foundation is crumbling. You don't have to look too hard around Butler to find something better to do with that kind of money.Isn't it more appropriate to take care of important things than it is to add a new bell or whistle? Where are the priorities of leadership? Are they all a bunch or glory seekers interested in do nothing change. It certainly looks that way. I would like to get everyone who reads this forum to suggest something they would like to see council do with estimated 80 to 200,000 dollars other than erect a statue. I bet eveyone comes up with better ideas than they have. What are your ideas folks? Who would know better what needs done than the actual folks that live here? Do we really need this Statue?
