Man arrested, marijuana plants found at home

Devan Green

A warrant search of a Center Township home turned up more than a pound of hallucinogenic mushrooms, several dozen marijuana plants and growing equipment, state police said.

Police arrested 23-year-old Devan M. Green following Friday's search of the home, where authorities say he admitted he had been living for about one month.

On Tuesday, police obtained an arrest warrant for the homeowner, 58-year-old Richard A. Lynch.

District Judge Dave Kovach arraigned Green on a felony charge of manufacture or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Lynch is facing similar charges.

An unrelated investigation apparently led police to the home on Tuck Lane, where they found Green shortly after 5:40 p.m. Friday.

During a consent search, police said, troopers came upon a sealed room containing evidence of a suspected marijuana-grow operation including potted plants and climate control systems.

Police said they later interviewed Green, who acknowledged he had a bag of marijuana in the house. He also admitted to knowing about the marijuana plants, according to charging documents.

Troopers eventually obtained a search warrant for the house, where they seized 87 marijuana plants and 1½ pounds of hallucinogenic mushrooms, police said.

Additionally, they allegedly found processed marijuana, growing equipment, scales, drug-packaging materials and other contraband.

Green is free on $30,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set July 21. Online court records did not list an attorney for him and he could not be reached for comment.

Lynch also could not be reached for comment. It was not known if he has an attorney.
