The problem with allowing political speeches in church is the fact that people then relate the two ideals into one. You begin to believe that blowing up an abortion clinic is what God wants. You begin to believe that your preacher's political ideas are God's ideas. You even begin to believe that God actually wanted George Bush to be elected. If he did, then this economy is our reward for it. He obviously did not.

Look at the supposed holy men in the middle east. They are wacko terrorists, but the people who believe their rhetoric, also believe that killing people is what God wants. They are sincere in their belief - even if it is wrong. They believe that because they went to church and that's what their "preacher" told them that God wanted.

The two ideals must be kept separate.
