1:38 a.m. Sunday — Rai Charles Saunders, 43, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was stopped for driving without headlights on Route 8. Police said he also was driving with an expired registration.10:50 p.m. Saturday — Two unknown men reportedly broke into a home in the 100 block of Kohler Avenue and stole a pair of purses.The home's resident apparently returned to the house and found the burglars in the living room. The suspects, who fled with the purses, are described as more than 6 feet tall and more than 200 pounds.Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.

Monday — Police reported that Kenneth Alan Long, 42, of Butler faces criminal charges after he allegedly bounced two checks on consecutive days at Pizza Pie on Evans City Road in Connoquenessing Township.Long on Sept. 27 passed a bad check of $100 at the business, a police report said. A day earlier he passed a bad check for $57.80 at the same store.10:15 a.m. Sunday — An unidentified vehicle struck a row of mailboxes along Mushrush Road in Jefferson Township. The unknown driver did not stop after the crash.Sunday — An Apple MacBook Pro laptop computer was stolen between 11:35 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. Sunday from a Cobblestone Lane home in Slippery Rock Township.3:43 p.m. Saturday — A Chase credit card was found in the Trader Horn parking lot on Route 422 Franklin Township. The owner can claim the card at the police barracks on Route 356 in Butler Township.2:13 a.m. Saturday — Joseph Aaron Duncan, 23, of Evans City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle struck a utility pole along Moose Road near Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township.6:21 p.m. Friday — Ronald Lee Winters, 53, of Center Township was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his pickup truck struck the rear of a sport utility vehicle at Route 8 and Shanor Drive in Center Township.The other driver, John Peter Cherry, 73, of Slippery Rock, suffered a minor injury. Police said Winters, in addition to DUI, faces charges of driving at an unsafe speed and an open container violation.Friday — A jar containing between $300 and $400 was stolen from a Claytonia Road home in Clay Township. The theft occurred between 8 a.m. Thursday and 4 p.m. Friday.Friday — An unknown thief stole hunting clothes from a clothes line at a Seven Hills Road home in Oakland Township. Among the items taken Thursday or Friday were rain suits, long underwear and T-shirts.3:05 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Merritt D. Fennell, 40, of Karns City crashed into an embankment and rolled onto its roof on Route 68 near Olcus Lane in Fairview Township. Police said Fennell was cited for a lane violation.8:08 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Gregory D. Karis, 24, of Harrisville struck a utility pole along Harmony Road in Mercer Township. Police said Karis was cited for a lane violation.Wednesday — An unknown thief stole several feet of copper tubing from a hot water tank at the Portersville Steam Association on Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township. The property was stolen between Aug. 2 and Wednesday.Sept. 29 — About $40 and cans of soda were stolen from a soda machine outside 38 Special Pizza & Subs on Route 38 in Concord Township.Sept. 27 — A blue and white, 2003 Yamaha WR 450 trail bike was stolen Sept. 26 or 27 from the yard of a home in the 200 block of Constitution Avenue in Connoquenessing.2:09 p.m. Sept. 20 — An SUV driven by Christopher W. Hair, 28, of Butler struck a utility pole along Hooker Road near Haysville Road in Fairview Township. The vehicle then crossed the road, hit an embankment and rolled onto its roof. Police said Hair was cited for a lane violation.1:40 a.m. Sept. 6 — Ryan A. Beatrice, 19, of Rochester, Beaver County, was arrested for suspicion of DUI and drug possession on South Main Street in Slippery Rock.

4:30 a.m. Sunday — Lori Anne Keller, 38, of Worthington was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car struck a sport utility vehicle along Main Street in Worthington. Police said Keller, in addition to DUI, faces numerous traffic tickets.Saturday — An unknown burglar broke into a Bell Top Drive home in North Buffalo Township. A police report did not indicate if any property was taken.9:20 p.m. Sept. 27 — An SUV driven by Dana A. Bowser, 26, of Templeton struck an embankment and rolled over on Clean Road in Madison Township. Police said Bowser was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

Monday — A New Castle man was arrested for the June 21 break-in at Joe's Gas Station and Garage on Route 19 in Springfield Township.The suspect, Terrance Richard Mayberry, 41, is charged in the case with burglary, trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief. He was arraigned on charges and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $5,000 bail.
