OTTAWA - Dany Heatley and Jason Spezza both had a goal and an assist, leading the Ottawa Senators over the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-1 in preseason play Thursday night.

Antoine Vermette and rookie Christoph Schubert also scored for Ottawa (6-0-0).

Ziggy Palffy scored the lone goal for Pittsburgh (1-4-2), and goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, vying for the backup job behind Jocelyn Thibault, finished with 35 saves.

Penguins rookie Sidney Crosby received warm applause from the sold-out crowd in his debut in Canada, but was held without a point.

"It was nice. It was sold out, good atmosphere," Crosby said. "It would have been nice for a better finish."
