Edward J. Smith III

Edward J. Smith III, 29, of Oneida Valley Road, Karns City, formerly of West Sunbury, died Monday of injuries sustained in a pedestrian accident.

Born June 30, 1978, in Butler, he was the son of Edward J. Smith Jr. and the late Deborah L. Codispot Smith.

He was a self employed contractor. He enjoyed spending time with his son and daughter and watching his son race dirt bikes. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Athena Peralta Smith; a daughter, Izabelle Smith, 3, at home; a son, Cody J. Smith, 11, at home; his father of Fenelton; a brother, Anthony J. "Beetle" Smith of Fenelton; his maternal grandmother Connie Codispot of Butler; his maternal grandfather, Joseph Codispot of California; his paternal grandmother, Peggy Smith of Chicora; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Edward J. Smith Sr.

<B>SMITH</B> — Friends of Edward J. Smith III, who died Monday, July 2, 2007, will be received from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Services will follow at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Buchanan of Trinity Harvest Church in Annisville officiating. Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
