Man wanted on attempted homicide charge caught after fleeing in Sharon

Clarification

An unidentified man is in U.S. Marshals custody and receiving medical care after unsuccessfully attempting to flee arrest in Sharon on Saturday night, Sept. 12, on suspicion of an attempted homicide, which occurred in Beaver County.

An article published on Page 1 of Monday’s Butler Eagle referenced a news release from the Sharon Police Department, which incorrectly stated the attempted homicide related to the arrest had happened in Butler County.

The police department and the U.S. Marshal’s office both confirmed Monday that the man was not tied to any attempted homicide charges associated with Butler County incidents.

The U.S. Marshals’ office and the Sharon Police Department are not releasing details on the suspect’s identity at this time.

According to a news release from the Sharon Police Department, the individual attempted to flee arrest by exiting a second-floor window and jumping from a roof. The man sustained injuries in the escape attempt and was taken into custody.
