Butler Police2:52 a.m. Sunday — Derrick Lee Jaques, 32, of Butler was arrested after he was caught allegedly breaking into vehicles in the 100 block of Mercer Street. A neighbor notified 911 after seeing the suspect going into two cars.Police got there and found Jaques. He was searched and found with a cell phone charger and two auxiliary cords taken from at least one of the vehicles, police said.Jaques, who faces a charge of theft from a vehicle, was placed in the Butler County Prison on a probation violation.

Grove City PoliceFriday — Brianna Lee Isles, 31, of Grove City was charged in a hit-and-run wreck last month on Craig Street. Police said they only recently identified Isles as the driver of the vehicle that traveled through a home’s yard Sept. 22 and crashed into a bush and shed.She did not stop, according to a police report. Isles is charged with hit-and-run and careless driving.5 a.m. Wednesday — Sidney M. Warner, 24, of Grove City allegedly assaulted a 20-year-old woman during a domestic dispute at his home on North Broad Street. Police a little more than two hours later arrested Warner at his job at an unidentified business on West Main Street.He was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Slippery Rock University PoliceOct. 24 — Police charged a Washington County woman with drunken driving in connection with an Oct. 22 traffic stop on Morrow Way in front of North Hall.The suspect, Allie M. Rose, 19, of Washington, was stopped after a patrol officer noticed her car nearly hit the sidewalk before going off the road and through the parking spaces at the Behavioral Science Building.Rose appeared to be impaired but she denied drinking any alcohol. She was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. She was taken to the station for a breath test, which showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.142 percent.

Butler County Drug Task ForceTuesday — John R. Lepley III, 44, of Butler was charged with misdemeanor drug possession stemming from a probation compliance check this month at his home on St. Mary’s Street in Butler.Probation officers notified the task force after they went to his home about 11 a.m. Oct. 20 and found four empty stamp bags of suspected heroin and a small amount of marijuana, eight Suboxone pills, two hypodermic needles and a crack pipe, according to court documents.Lepley is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

State Police, Butler7:46 p.m. Sunday — Gage C. Walls, 20, of Harmony was hurt when a car rear-ended his car on Route 19 at Perry Lake Lane in Lancaster Township. Walls, who was stopped to make a left turn, suffered a minor injury.The other driver, Kyle R. Matson, 38, of Cranberry Township, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.Saturday — Unspecified property was stolen from a 65-year-old Sarver man’s vehicle at the park and ride on Route 488 in Portersville. The theft happened between Wednesday and Saturday. A police report said the investigation continues but did not indicate if there are any suspects.Tuesday — Unspecified property was taken from a vehicle at the parking lot of Shaner Automotive on Route 8 in Center Township. The property, owned by the business, was stolen between 6 p.m. Oct. 24 and 8 p.m. Tuesday.A police report said the investigation continues but did not indicate if there are any suspects.Oct. 24 — Kyle G. Motta, 20, of Cranberry Township was charged with drunken driving stemming from a one-vehicle wreck earlier this month in Slippery Rock Township.Police said Motta lost control of his car about 3:30 a.m. Oct. 8 and crashed into a wooded area along Route 108. The vehicle ended on its side. Motta, who reeked of alcohol, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.Toxicology results later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.176 percent, more than double the state’s legal limit.In addition to driving under the influence, Motta is charged with DUI by a minor, driving with an open container of alcohol, disregarding traffic lanes, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.

State Police, ClarionMidnight Sunday — Everett L. Lehnortt, 57, of Foxburg was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his sport utility vehicle struck and sheared off a utility pole along Route 58 just east of Church Street in Foxburg.Police said Lehnortt drove away but was later found. DUI charges are pending toxicology results.

State Police, KittanningSunday — Police reported that they are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl at a home in Bradys Bend Township. The suspected assault happened some time ago. Police have a suspect, a white male, who they did not identify.Police said their investigation continues but they released no other information.6:10 p.m. Saturday — Someone found lighting and heating equipment, green ratchet straps and extension cords in the 200 block of North Buffalo Township. The owners can claim the property by calling police at 724-543-2011.8:45 p.m. Thursday — Two shoplifters made off with a pair of boots, valued at $85, from the Famous Footwear store at the Hilltop Plaza in East Franklin Township. Both suspects are described as white females. Anyone with information is asked to call police.2:25 p.m. Oct. 23 — An unidentified vehicle struck a 59-year-old Ford City man’s car parked in the handicap stall at the Hilltop Plaza Walmart in East Franklin Township. The unknown driver did not stop or leave a note on the victim’s vehicle.

State Police, Mercer2:14 p.m. Saturday — A Grove City couple was injured when a pickup truck crashed into their motorcycle in East Lackawannock Township. Gerry L. Eakin, 63, who was driving the cycle, and his passenger, Debra A. Eakin. 65, were taken to Sharon Regional Health System hospital and St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, respectively.Debra Eakin suffered serious injuries, a police report said. The extent of Gerry Eakin’s injuries was not known. The other driver, Kurtis M. Hall, 20, of Bessemer, suffered only minor injuries.Police said Hall was traveling south on Route 158 when his pickup crossed the center line and collided with the Eakins’ northbound Kawasaki Vulcan. The cycle went off the road and hit a mailbox before falling onto its side and sliding across the highway.Both cyclists were wearing helmets. Police said Hall, who was wearing a seat belt, was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.Oct. 10 — An unknown thief made off with a shotgun that the owner had inadvertently left leaning against a utility pole in the parking lot of State Game Lands property on Route 965 in Worth Township, Mercer County. The gun was taken between Oct. 8 and 10.Police said when the owner returned to get his gun, it was gone.
