Coyle

Leota S. "Shorty" Coyle, 91, formerly of East Jefferson Street, died Tuesday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 19, 1916, in Bigler, Clearfield County, she was a daughter of Homer and Susan "Tude" McQuillian Wilson.

Shorty had been the banquet and catering manager at the Butler Days Inn for more than 25 years and for the Holiday Inn from when it opened in 1980.

Mrs. Coyle was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and recently attended the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian with family members.

She also was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernian and the former Elks Lodge Auxiliary, both of Butler. She enjoyed bingo and played nightly at area games.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen Callihan (Mrs. Francis) of Meridian; three sons, Joseph R. (Mary Ann) Coyle of Renfrew, Patrick M. (Kathy) Coyle of Butler and John E. (Jeanne) Coyle of Charleston, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Joseph L. Coyle, whom she married July 26, 1941, died Dec. 30, 1973. Two brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.

<B>COYLE </B>— Friends of Leota S. "Shorty" Coyle, who died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
