Christmas Memories

Ginger0314@aol.com

We always came to town on Saturday when I was little. My mom would go to The Hub to buy dad's suits and we always went to Miller Shoes - her friend worked there. Remember the little riding merry go round in the basement? I loved to go to GC Murphy's - the basement always had a funny smell LOL - loved the booth inside the front door that you could have your picture taken in. I loved to ride the elevator at Troutman's - the one with the iron gate that the operator pulled shut. We would go the the A&P on the Island and get our groceries - mom always let me get the coffee - 3 pounds of 8 O'clock medium fine - then we went to Butler Packing for our meat - remember going in to the freezer and getting a Hot Dog. We always went to The City Market and Cutaway Meat too. Thanks for starting this topic - the good old days. Oh, and remember Bill's Bargain?
