Dorothy A. Kradel, 79, of Butler died Sunday at HCRManor Care in McMurray.

She was born March 3, 1929, in Butler, the daughter of Andrew Schmeider and Melba Madison Schmeider.

She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She had worked for United Telephone Company and Sugar Bowl.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty A. Kradel and her partner, Dan Wilhelm, of McMurray; her granddaughter, Sarah Kradel of McMurray; her grandson, Jake Wilhelm of McMurray; her sister, Ruth Kienzle of Butler; and her brother, Robert Schmeider of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Kradel, who died March 2, 1994.
