Betty Rose Bell, 78, of Hall Road, Butler, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday at her home.

Born Jan. 15, 1930, in Ellwood City, Lawrence County, she was the daughter of John William Eichenberger and Bertha Minetta Ehrheart.

She married Clair A. Thompson in 1946. He predeceased her in 1955.

She was a Presbyterian. She enjoyed cooking and working with crafts. She was a former member of the Mercer Moose and the Country Music Association in Butler.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen R. Wolfe and her husband, Charles, of Butler; one son, Robert L. Bell and his wife, Carman, of Gallipolis, Ohio; three grandchildren, Charyn R. Caruso, Robert L. Bell Jr. and Brian M. Bell, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Patricia Krauchuk; one son, Gary A. Thompson; one grandson, Ronald E. Donaldson; three sisters; and three brothers.

<B>BELL</B> — Friends of Betty Rose Bell, who died Friday, July 25, 2008, will be received noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. The service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Gomola, pastor of the Leesburg Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
