Alvin W. Bargerstock
Alvin W. Bargerstock, 82, of Cabot died Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born May 18, 1926, in West Winfield, he was the son of James W. and Alice M. Shaner Bargerstock.
He worked as a spawning machine foreman for Moonlight Mushroom. He also owned and operated AW Bargerstock Nursery on Route 356 for nearly 50 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He was a member of the American Bell Association and the National Rifle Association.
He and his wife donated bells to Concordia Lutheran Ministries. He enjoyed collecting bells, antiques, vacationing, hunting and photography.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Arlene Elliott Bargerstock, who died Feb. 5, 2005; and two sisters, Juanita Allison and Audine Barker.
<B>BARGERSTOCK </B>— Friends of Alvin W. Bargerstock, who died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Hartman officiating.
