Bertha Anne L. Green
Bertha Anne L. Green, 87, of Shippenville, formerly of North Riverview Drive, Parker, Hovey Township, Armstrong County, died Tuesday at Clarion Hospital after a long illness.
Born Aug. 5, 1921, in Fairfield, Conn., she was a daughter of Raymond H. and Annie D. Black Perkins.
She was a 1939 graduate of St. Petersburg-Richland High School and had been an executive secretary at Overdoors of Illinois in Homewood, Ill., for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Green had been a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, quilting and painting.
Surviving are a son, John P. Green Jr. and his wife, Sara, of Winemac, Ind.; a daughter, Kay A. Flores of Shippenville; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother; two sisters; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her husband, John P. Green, who she married Dec. 23, 1939, in St. Petersburg, died in March 1995. Three brothers also preceded her in death.
<B>GREEN </B>— Friends of Bertha Anne L. Green, who died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Hile Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 802 Grove St., St. Petersburg. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Myers of Foxburg United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Foxburg Cemetery.
