M. Wayne Neal, 80, of Three Degree Road, Renfrew, died at 5:40 p.m. Friday at the St. John Specialty Care Center, Mars.

Born May 3, 1928, in Coal Run, Indiana County, he was the son of the late Milton H. Neal and the late Hilda Campbell Neal.

Mr. Neal was an elementary supervisor for the Hampton School District in Allison Park. He retired in June 1993.

He was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of the church choir, an elder and a Sunday School teacher at his church. He was a member of PAESSP.

He enjoyed skiing, biking and traveling and was an avid bridge player.

He was a veteran of the Army, serving 15 months with the 16th Corps in Sendai, Japan.

Mr. Neal is survived by his wife, Kathryn Ruffner, who he married Feb. 14, 1953; a son, Jeffrey W. Neal and his wife, Tricia, of Lake Worth, Fla; a daughter, Kathryn "Kitty" Shields and her husband, Rustin, of Sandusky, Ohio; a grandson, Jon Ross Shields; and eight nieces and nephews.

Mr. Neal was preceded in death by a twin son and daughter, two sisters and a brother.

<B>NEAL</B> — Friends of M. Wayne Neal, who died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hill United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Clark Sawyer of Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Brownsdale Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Hill United Presbyterian Church Choir, 501 Second St., Butler, PA 16001.Information and a private guest book are available at www.thompson-miller.com.
