Helen P. Rushenberger, 80, of Mercer, formerly of Callery, died Sunday afternoon at Woodland Place in Mercer.

Born in Pittsburgh, March 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Ruth Metz Rushenberger.

A 1947 graduate of Evans City High School, she then graduated from the Meadville School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 1952. She worked at North Hills Passavant and Suburban General hospitals and then worked 24 years for Mine Safety Appliance in Callery.

She was a member of the Old Union Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a son, Guy W. Rushenberger of Callery, and her caregivers, Roberta P. Elder of Sandy Lake and Rebecca Jordan of Meadville.

She was preceded in death by an infant son and a sister.

<B>RUSHENBERGER</B> — Friends of Helen P. Rushenberger, who died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars. Services will follow at noon at the church with the Rev. Peter deVries, pastor, officiating. A luncheon will follow the services. Entombment will be in the Zelienople Mausoleum.Memorials are requested to the church.Arrangements are under the direction of the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, Mars, and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
