Vernie J. Weir, 81, of Cranberry Township died Sunday morning at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

Born in Perrysville, Feb. 4, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ramon and Verney Roth Lubitz.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Dutilh United Methodist Church in Cranberry Township.

Surviving are her husband, Howard E. Weir, whom she married Sept. 10, 1949; a son, Mark D. Weir and his wife, Kathy, of Rochester; and two grandchildren, Laura L. Weir of State College and Thomas M. Weir of Rochester.
