Donald J. McNeil, 68, of Butler died suddenly Sunday morning at his home. He had lived in the Butler area since 1991.

Born Sept. 18, 1940, in Dover, N.J., he was the son of William W. Disbrow and Enid Luella McNeil.

He was a former member of the Salem United Church of Christ in Gilbert, Pa.

He loved animals and gave his time two days a week to take donated pet food to the Butler County Humane Society.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie L. Horn McNeil, who he married Sept. 14, 1986; two sisters, Carol A. Lake of Bushkill, Pa., and Evelyn Fredericks of Rockaway, N.J.; his brother, John M. Salitsky of Rockaway; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Jean M. Langdon.
