Dora W. Snyder
Dora W. Snyder, 90, of West Water Street, Slippery Rock, died Friday at the Grove Manor Nursing Home, Grove City.
She was the daughter of James Wilkins Williams and Florence Walsh Williams.
Her husband, Lawrence Peart "Pete" Snyder, whom she married June 14, 1947, died Aug. 16, 1957.
She had worked at the former Bards Store in Slippery Rock and later co-owned and operated the Slippery Rock Dress Shop with Leslie Sonnett.
She was a 60-year member of the Center Presbyterian Church, Slippery Rock.
She was a gifted seamstress, loving grandmother and an avid reader.
Surviving are a daughter, Doreen Brownsword and her husband, Frank, of Stoke-On-Trent, England; and their three children and nine grandchildren, all in England. She also is survived by a son, Alan P. Snyder and his wife, Ruth, of Nazareth, Pa.; and their three children and two grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Declan Roger Anderson; a brother, James Williams; and four sisters, Irene Jones, Doris Brindley, Betty Bourke and Florence Barnish.
<B>SNYDER</B> — Visitation for Dora W. Snyder, who died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Boos, interim pastor of Center Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
