Irene N. Fair, 88, of Chicora died unexpectedly at 2:41 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital,

She was born in Chicora on July 11, 1920, the daughter of the late Albert and Bella J. Fennell Shook.

Mrs. Fair was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Chicora, where she was a Sunday school teacher.

She is survived by two daughters, Laurie Mahood and Joanna Fair, both of Chicora; two sons, Kenneth Fair and his wife, Jane, of Chicora, and Joel Fair and his wife, Diana, of Parker; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Geraldine Fair of Chicora; and close friends, Kelly Lamison and Sam.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan K. Fair, who she married Oct. 7, 1943, and who died Nov. 16, 1987; and her brother, Albert J. Shook.

<B>FAIR —</B> Friends of Irene N. Fair, who died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME,</B> 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 310 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora, with the Rev. Mark Wallace, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's Reformed Cemetery, 334 W.
