Isabelle Hammerstein
Isabelle M. Hammerstein, 91, of Zelienople died Tuesday at Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.
Born Jan. 8, 1917, in Mount Carroll, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Carlos R. and Alta M. Shrake Robbe.
Mrs. Hammerstein had been a teacher and librarian in the Perrysville School District for many years. She also had been a librarian at North Hills Library and Carnegie Library.
She was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, Zelienople.
She is survived by two grandsons, Scott Van Luven and his wife, Nancy, of Kingston, Ontario, and Tim Hammerstein and his wife, Cassi Cooper, of Colorado; four great-grandchildren, Evan and Georgia Van Luven and Zoe and Liv Hammerstein; and two sisters, Marjorie Percy of Hudson, Ohio, and Sally Seamen of Sidney, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ross Hammerstein; her son, George Richard Hammerstein; a brother; and two sisters.
