IN BRIEF

PITTSBURGH — Four female executives at the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh have sued the organization, claiming that they have been paid less than male counterparts.

A Pittsburgh newspaper reports that Deborah Moore Ellsworth, Diane Dennison, Sonya Shumway, and Margaret O'Brien filed the lawsuit under the Equal Pay Act of 1963.

It asks that the employees be paid what they would have received had there been no discrimination, and award interest, damages and legal costs.

YMCA spokesman Stephan C. Davis says in a statement that the organization is a strong advocate for equality, and that it treats everyone fairly and without discrimination. Davis says YMCA attorneys examined the accusations and feel the complaints aren't valid.
