Neil D. Croop, 33, of Mars died peacefully in his sleep Thursday morning at his home.

Born Oct. 10, 1975, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Howard and Mary Ann Hindman Croop of Mars.

He had been a customer service representative for Verizon Wireless in Cranberry Township.

A 1994 graduate of Mars High School, he had also graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He was an avid photographer and took pictures at special events for many families in the area.

He was a member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church.

He had been an Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 400 in Mars.

He was active in his family's involvement with A.F.S. and had three A.F.S. brothers and two A.F.S. sisters.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Virginia Boice Croop of Mars; his maternal grandmother, Mary Brownfield Hindman of East Brady; a brother, Brian Croop and his wife, Ann, of Mars; and two nephews, Braeden and Gavin Croop.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Cecil Croop and Andrew Hindman; and by an infant brother.

<B>CROOP</B> — Friends of Neil D. Croop, who died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mars United Presbyterian Church. Please meet at the church.
