Vernon D. Wazenegger, 91, of Cranberry Township died Wednesday at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township.

Born March 21, 1917, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Charles and Marie (Udick) Wazenegger.

Mr. Wazenegger was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lovi, Cranberry Township.

He was a retired truck driver and a member of Teamsters Local 249. After his retirement from the Teamsters, he worked in maintenance for 10 years for the Seneca Valley School District.

Mr. Wazenegger enjoyed playing cards, reading western novels, listening to Pirates games and working on his Lionel trains.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Wazenegger, whom he married Sept. 2, 1944; a son, Don R. Wazenegger and his wife, Linda, of Evans City; three daughters, Judy L. Wazenegger of Cranberry Township, Nancy J. Crawshaw and her husband, Frank, of Pittsburgh and Janice R. Pinkerton and her husband, Jesse, of Economy; a sister, Shirley Wilson of Sewickley; seven grandchildren, Donnel Stewart, Tate Wazenegger, Cynthia Segat, Luke Wazenegger, Ginger Goodrich and Mary Beth and Sarah Crawshaw; and three great-grandchildren, Morgan and Lidia Wazenegger and Paige Wazenegger.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles R. Wazenegger.

<B>Wazenegger</B> — Friends of Vernon D. Wazenegger, who died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home and Cremation Services., Inc.</B>, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor William Steel, his church pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Pinewood Memorial Gardens, Cranberry Township.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lovi, 1001 Freedom Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.Online condolences and directions are available at www.glennkildoofuneralhome.com.
