Eva May Ellenberger

Eva May Zeigel Ellenberger, 89, of Wapwallopen, Luzerne County, died Tuesday at Berwick Hospital, Berwick, Pa.

Born Nov. 15, 1919, in New Brighton, she was the daughter of Prosper Zeigel and Elsie Allison Zeigel.

She married the Rev. Carl R. Ellenberger on Aug. 28, 1943, and he died Dec. 28, 2000.

She was a homemaker and was a graduate of New Brighton High School.

Mrs. Ellenberger served as a faithful pastor's wife for 50 years in the western and central districts of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She also was president of the Western Pennsylvania District Women's Missionary Prayer Fellowship.

She was a member of the Community Alliance Church, Bloomsburg.

Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Margy and Tedd Tripp of Wapwallopen and Sherrie and Robert Strain of Media; three sons and their wives, Carle and Georgia Ellenberger of Butler, Thomas and Shirley Ellenberger of Clearwater, Kan., and Randall and Saundra Ellenberger of Enon Valley; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Zeigel and Merle Zeier; and a sister, Florence Stalnecker.

<B>ELLENBERGER </B>— Calling hours for Eva May Zeigel Ellenberger, who died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory Inc.</B>, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sherman Berkley officiating. Burial will be in the Butler County Memorial Park cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mahaffey Camp and Conference Center, P.O.
