Penn Township to host its 17th annual community day
Community day has grown into a well-attended annual event for residents of Penn Township.
The family-friendly event, which provides opportunities for residents to come together, is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the township’s Harcrest Community Park.
Guests can expect a day full of live entertainment, food trucks, pony rides, raffles and more.
The event was established in 2009 by the Nixon Church congregation and community members, in partnership with the Penns Men Group. Since then, the township has assumed responsibility for the event and continues to organize it each year. Although the township continues to host this event, the long-term vision is for it to be led by community volunteers once again.
After all expenses are covered, the remaining proceeds will be donated to first responders.
