Cranberry Township will present an award for giving at a ceremony Thursday, Oct. 8.

The Cranberry Public Library will host the ceremony from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8, to award the Mazzoni Spirit of Giving Award to Ian Lucas, a volunteer in the library’s The Forge makerspace.

The Cranberry Sunrise Rotary Club has been selected as the 2026 local service organization in recognition of its longstanding support of the library. The Rotary recently donated $3,000 to purchase large print books and was instrumental in raising funds to support the creation of The Forge in 2019.

Cranberry Library established the Mazzoni Spirit of Giving Award in 2013 in honor of Bruce and Conni Mazzoni. Awarded annually, it acknowledges individuals or groups in the community who have demonstrated generosity and creative vision.

The library will close early Oct. 8 — at 5 p.m. — to prepare for the event.
