County CareerLink names administrator
Larry S. Garvin, vice president of operations for Career T.R.A.C.K., will take on an additional role Oct. 12 when he replaces Peggy Weckerly as administrator of PA CareerLink Butler County.
She is retiring.
He has worked for Career T.R.A.C.K. for more than 33 years. He also is project director for the Senior Aide Program of Butler County. He will continue in those positions in addition to being CareerLink's new administrator.
Weckerly, who has worked for the state for 45 years, established the Butler County CareerLink in June 2002. The office is an independent nonprofit that offers services for training, education and employment. Career T.R.A.C.K. is CareerLink's service and training partner.
Both agencies are overseen by the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board, which serves Butler, Armstrong and Indiana counties.
All offices are in the building at 112 Holly Wood Drive, Butler.
An article that ran in Sunday's Butler Eagle incorrectly identified Garvin as having been the former chief executive officer of the Butler YMCA. He has never been associated with the Butler YMCA. Larry W. Garvin is the former CEO of that YMCA.
There is no relation between the two men.
