James G. Manuel

James G. Manuel, 53, of Butler died at 7:05 p.m. Thursday in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot.

Born in Butler, Sept. 20, 1955, he was the son of Jack L. Manuel and the late Wilma England Manuel.

Jim spent most of his 31 years in the stainless steel processing department in Plant II at Armco/AK Steel in Butler. At the time of his retirement in May 2009, he was in the continuous casting department.

Mr. Manuel loved spending time outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

He was a Protestant.

Mr. Manuel is survived by his wife, Carol Roccki Manuel, who he married Sept. 3, 1977; two sons, Joshua J. Manuel and Jeremy L. Manuel, and a daughter, Jenna E. Manuel, all of Butler; his father, Jack L. Manuel of Butler; a sister, Jody E. Crouse and her husband, Dennis, of Butler; three nieces; and four nephews.

<B>MANUEL</B> — Friends of James G. Manuel, who died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Harry L. Divido of the North Main Street Church of God and the Rev. Father James W. Dolan of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church officiating.
