Harry Ray Hankey, 86, of Renfrew, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, at his home.

He was born Dec. 14, 1939, in Rimersburg, to Walter Bruce Hankey and Pauline C. (Womeldorf) Hankey.

Harry graduated from Union High School and attended Clarion University. He was employed by AK Steel for many years. A Christian by faith, Harry was a member of Christ Community Methodist Church. He enjoyed football and gardening, and he was a true foodie who appreciated a good meal.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Etta (Gray) Hankey; daughter, Susan Relihan; grandchildren, Nicholle (Jess) Schoonover, Danielle (Tyler) Weleski, Zane (Charity) Hankey, John D. (Lauren) Relihan and Jaycee Relihan; great-grandchildren, Barrett, Lily, Mavis and Reyna; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott Hankey; brothers, Ronald Hankey and Craig Hankey; and sister, Bette Clouse.

HANKEY — A visitation for Harry Ray Hankey, who died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, will be held from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at the funeral home.

Harry will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
